IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED!

Contact your Representatives Before Tuesday, March 12th!

Write to your Representative and tell them to support HB2502/SB2104!

HB2502/SB2104 would legalize medical cannabis in Tennessee, allowing patients and their physicians to make informed decisions about their healthcare. By doing so, we can improve the quality of life for countless Tennesseans and move our state forward into a more compassionate and hopeful future.

HB2502/SB2104 was scheduled to be heard March 5th, but it got rolled to March 12th.

HB2502/SB2104 is a bill that TGC board members have been working on for the past few years. It was ran in previous years but never made it through the fist few committees.

During this years session Representative Torrey Harris (D-Memphis) and Senator London Lamar (D-Memphis) are sponsoring this bill. We also have the Tennessee Veterans extending their support for HB2502.

While we remain optimistic about the potential passage of our legalization bills, we recognize the challenging political landscape in Tennessee. As the state is governed by a Republican supermajority, historically opposed to cannabis reform, progress faces significant hurdles. Nonetheless, we continue to engage with supportive leaders within the Republican party and seek their backing for our legislation. However, formidable obstacles persist, including the presence of anti-cannabis voices in key committees, posing challenges to our advocacy efforts.

Why pursue legislation that may face challenges in passing? The Tennessee Growers Coalition (TGC) operates as a proactive Political Action Committee (PAC), steadfast in our commitment to advocating for the interests of the cannabis industry. Despite potential obstacles, our mission remains clear: to serve as the unwavering voice of the industry, ensuring representation on the hill and safeguarding the interests of Tennesseans. Without proactive advocacy, we risk leaving the field open to parties that may push for harmful or regressive legislation. Across the nation, we've witnessed states enact laws that fail to benefit small businesses, farmers, and consumers alike, both in medical and recreational contexts. The TGC remains vigilant, not only monitoring developments within Tennessee but also observing legislative outcomes in other states. Our aim is to counter anti-cannabis forces, those with ulterior motives, and multi-state operations that threaten to marginalize small businesses within the industry.
